This is a review of Foundations in Worship. Foundations in Worship is a hymn study textbook/workbook written by Dr. John D. Morris and published in 2023 by Master Books Curriculum:
Written with grade levels 7-12 in mind, this is a reliable hymn-study curriculum, and can actually be used with a variety of age groups (my fourth grader is going through this and learning scripture, theology, hymn history, handwriting, hymn presentation - all from this one workbook/textbook. Note, though, that this requires a lot of careful explanation because of all the big words).
This book uses the King James translation, and presents solid hymn in a God-honoring, respectful way, teaching the student not only hymn history, but also the true meaning of worship of Almighty God. The course can be used without any prior music study.
